June 18, 2016: In Fairbanks, Alaska, I was lucky enough to hear about and attend the 2016 Midnight Sun Run. The annual event is a celebratory race (with an optional costume contest at the beginning!) held on or near the summer solstice each year when Alaska has its famous 'midnight sun'.
For all that I tried and did my best as a photographer, I still feel like all of my efforts fall short of capturing this scene. The incredible beauty of the light and sun through the clouds, late at night, was like nothing I'd seen. I kept stopping just to look at the sky with wonder.
